Racquel manages the Civil Society Follow-Up to the Summit of the Americas Mandates project and is lead facilitator for the Canadian Afro-Latino Forum for Research Online (CanAFRO) project at Ottawa-based FOCAL. She worked previously at the Inter-American Development Bank; the Grameen Foundation in Washington DC; and with Andrea M. Ewart, P. C,a trade law and consulting firm based in Washington DC that provides strategic advice to governments, business’ and individuals. She was previously an intern on the Editorial Pages of the Wall Street Journal Europe.

She earned dual bachelors degrees in international relations and in management economics at Ohio Wesleyan University in the US, and has a master’s degree in international commerce and political economy at the Patterson School, Kentucky. Racquel has also studied in Colombia, South America and in Paris, France.

Racquel is a product of Jamaican soil. Also, she has ambitions to get a cat.
